Biswajit Roy Chowdhury
Born in 1956 in Bengal (Eastern India), Biswajit Roy Chowdhury received his first lessons on the sitar and the sarod at the age of ten from his father Ranajit Roy Chowdhury. Later he was instructed by Pandit Indranil Bhattacharya and Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, which strongly influenced his technique. Nothing pleases more than to observe a young artist attaining maturity. Biswajit Roy Chowdhury´s rendering of ragas Shyam Kalyan and Jhinjhoti revealed phrases of matured artistry and understanding of the ragas. - The Statesman, Neu Delhi 1984
