Darshana Menon, is a trained classical singer aspiring to a career in music. Her musical journey reached a new height when she won the Zee SRGMP USA Challenge 2008. What started out as an exploratory entry into the contest, for the love of music, turned into the honour of winning the SRGMP Challenge USA 2008.

   Her ability to sing comes from her mother. She is a trained Hindustani classical singer and she used to sing on AIR (All India Radio) when she was younger, but was unable to pursue a serious career in music because her family was against it.

 
 Her first singing performance was at an ISA function at Wayne State University where she sang a Carnatic keerthana.
