Geeta Chandran has imprinted Bharatanatyam with her own unique dance persona, which she says came from her intense and terrific training over decades.  Her ability to merge the learning form different Gurus and make the dance her own statement is something that is applauded by serious rasikas of classical dance.

For her dedicated services to Bharatanatyam, Geeta has been decorated with innumerable national and international awards and honours. Among those that she most values are the titles of Natya Ratna given to her by her first teacher Swarna Saraswathy and the Padmashri bestowed on her by the Government of India in 2007.

Geeta Chandran has performed in almost all the prestigious dance festivals in India.  And in her travels abroad, she has promoted the dignity and uniqueness of her Bharatanatyam dance
