Krishna Das

Krishna Das is a very famous singer who sings Indian chants known as kirtans. You will be very surprised to know that Krishna Das is an American and was born as Jeffrey Kagel. But in 1960s he came to India with Ram Dass and got a chance to study under a Hindu guru by the name Neem Karoli Baba which forever changed his lifestyle and perception of life. He gives his performances all over the world. While staying in India Krishna Das was attracted by the practice of kirtan which means chanting names of God and by Bhakti Yoga. He later became a priest for a Durga temple in the ashram of Neem Karoli Baba Maharaj. During this time Krishna Das fully devoted himself in worshiping Divine Goddess.
