Mehnaz can be regarded as the most young , reverberant, vivacious and beyond doubt, a wonderful singer. Sometimes she is also regarded as a pop icon. This flamboyant performer, Mehnaz Hoosien received her musical training under the exper tutelage of Pandit Bhavdeep Jaipurwale, who is regarded as the most well thought of vocalist of Indian Classical music. Under his great tutelage she has learned to sing pop, Jazz and classical as well.

Mehnaz Hoosein, the Indi-pop star of the ‘90s, is the first Indian artiste to perform at the Sundance Film Festival.

Her first solo show was in Muscat in 1995 on New Year's Eve. She won the Channel V award for the best female vocalist for Miss India. She has done lot of live shows in Dubai, Muscat, Bahrain and Sri Lanka.
