Rajkumar Rizvi

Among one of the few classical ghazal singers still left, Rajkumar Rizvi, a relative of Mehdi Hassan, owns a place and shares his style as well as his beautiful voice wherein he normally sings with his talented wife Indrani Rizvi.

He is known to compose the ghazals he sings based on Raagas and also for his pronunciations of poetry that are clear and precise, emphasising the aesthetic implication of the Ghazal and projecting it’s emotional content. The classical timbre has been retained in his style which have increased his fan flow apart from his alluring romantic ghazals that are rocking with popularity. He made his first trip abroad as part of the Indian delegation to Hong Kong in 1969.

Rajkumar Rizvi owns the pride of being the first disciple of Mehdi Hassan.

He has the honour of being popular as the Dark Prince of Ghazals, during the height of ghazal popularity in the 80's.
