Ravi Shukla, the winner of the best music reality show, Amul Star Voice of India 2, was born on 4th Nov 1983 in Kolkata, West Bengal.

Ravi belongs to a business family and hence, did not get much opportunity to learn singing during his childhood days. However, he has always wanted to be into singing and regularly participated in various singing competitions. He participated in many competitions since 2001 and won many accolades, but then also his father was not convinced.

In 2004, Ravi was among the top 30 contestants of Indian Idol Season 1 where he fought till the wild card round. Unfortunately he couldn’t make it to the top 11 but he got lot of exposure from it. He started performing in many shows. He started learning music under Pandit Jayanta Bose in June 2005. He went to America in 2006 for an international tour where he performed in New York, Atlanta, Nashville, Kentucky, Los Angeles, Washington D.C., Memphis, Houston and many others. After this American tour, which lasted for 7 months he was ultimately able to convince his parents.

He also participated in Voice of India 1 but probably God wanted him to work harder for another year as he could not make it to the top 12 in Season 1 . But no setbacks could stop this adept singer and finally his zeal for music brought him to the top 12 in Voice of India 2. Ravi worked really hard and day by day improved his performance.
