Sharon Prabhakar
Sharon has come a long way ever since she first burst into the musical arena with 'Aa Mere Jaisi Haseena' for music director, Bappi Lahiri in the film, 'Armaan.' In 1985, Sharon won the 'Singer of the Year' award for this song. She then embarked on a world tour. The Madison Square Gardens, The Royal Albert Hall, the Kenyatta Conference Hall… Sharon packed them in show after show. From 1995 to 2000 Sharon extensively travelled, simultaneously representing India at Pop Festivals the world over.
In 2001, she represented India in Singapore as one of the seven artists selected worldwide from popularity poll. She came out with a mix of contemporary with her personal favourites in 2006 in the form of an album titled 'Dilruba'.
Her new album Dilruba released in August 2006. She has appeared as herself in a couple of Bollywood films apart from being playback singer for several songs.
