Shekhar Suman

Shekhar Suman is an Indian film actor and a television personality, an actor, TV host, laughter show judge, singer and aspiring politician.

He started his Bollywood career with the film Utsav opposite Rekha in 1985. He worked with top most actresses of their time like Madhuri Dixit, Dimple Kapadia and Juhi Chawla but he did not enjoy much commercial success. He is credited in the film 'Utsav' on IMDB as 'Majnunath" Shekhar Suman.

Though not very successful in films he rose to become the first superstar of television and achieved considerable success after the shows Movers n Shakers and Simply Shekar. They were primarily modeled on and adapted from The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. He hosted The Great Indian Comedy Show on Star One till February 2006 and did some episodes of Dial One aur Jeeto on Sahara TV. Prior to this he did quiz shows like Bid Bid Boom on Zee Television and He-Man on Star One. He also hosts a show on Star News, Poll Khol which is a satire on the current political scenario in India.

Apart from this, he was one of the judges of The Great Indian Laughter Challenge along with Navjot Singh Sidhu, a former cricketer.
