Talath Abdul Azeez Khan aka Talat Aziz was born to Abdul Azeem Khan and Sajida Abid. Talat’s mother, Sajida, is a famous Urdu, writer and poet. Talat’s family loved fine arts. He took his initial training in music from Kirana Gharana. Talat was trained primarily by Ustad Samad Khan and later by Ustad Fayaz Ahmed who were famous in classical music industry.

Talat’s parents helped in developing a flair for singing in him. They used to arrange mehfils every Saturday at their place in which great artists like took part. This influenced young Talat and he was into music from an early age.

After the initial training Talat decided to learn music from music maestro Mehdi Hassan. On many occasions, he shared the same stage with Mehdi Hassan during concerts in India and abroad.

Talat Aziz had the honour of perfoming exclusively for the Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee on the New year's eve. The PM a poet himself, had several farmaaishes(requests), that included Ghazal's Dil-e-naadaan tujhe hua kya haiand his favourite,
