Yudhvir Manak is one of new breed of talented Bhangra singers who are coming up through the ranks. Born in India he is the only son of one of the icons of Bhangra music, Kuldeep Manak. His father was a big influence on Yudhvir as he grew up and helped developed his talent from a young age. Yudhvir Manak Yudhvir Manak The established star was an inspiration and teacher to the aspiring singer during his youth. Kuldeep taught his son the art of raag sangeet, also known as Hindustani music, it’s one of the oldest forms of classical music and almost entirely improvised. He got the bug for performing after taking part in shows at school, local events and competitions. Determined to launch a successful singing career of his own, Yudhvir moved to Australia where he studied towards a diploma in sound production and engineering. Releasing his first album, Billo Mera Dil Lai Gi, in 2000 Yudhvir announced his arrival on the Bhangra music scene. Yudhvir has also worked on some successful collaborations including a track called Gabroo for Gippy Grewal’s album, Here I Am. The pair are good friends outside of music and have a lot in common as fellow up and coming artists. His current album entitled 24 Karat Gold, was released in 2008. The previous album, Dil Dharkey was produced by Aman Hayer and was his biggest success to date. Yudhvir recently shared as stage with his father as he was invited to perform at the Royal Family show which celebrates the work of the Royalty of the Bangra world. Other artists who took part in the concert included Jazzy B, Miss Pooja and Preet Brar.
